Notes

Edward Colwell entered service in the Civil War in the Thirty-Eighth
Regiment, Company G of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry on September 5, 1861
at the age of 21. He served three years as a private and died of erysipelas
on February 4, 1864 in Nashville, Tennessee at the Nashville General
Hospital. He is buried in Section D., grave 90, in Tennessee.
Personal effects sent to his mother included "One pr Pants, one Great-
Coat, one Blouse one pr Boots."
