Notes

!OCCUPATION - SERIOUS ILLNESS:
Sheared sheep in the 30's in Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and any place
he could get a job. Cecil nearly died about 1936 from Rocky Mountain fever
About 1938 the Cecil Kee family, moved from Burbank, Washington, back to Charley
Kee's Homestead in the Geraldine, Montana area. Cecil dry land strip farmed,
wheat; oats; barley; some flax and corn. A lot of the pulling power, was still,
being done by JUD, and his stable mate and the assistance of an iron wheeled
John Deere tractor. Later Cecil acquired a rubber tired Minneapolis Molene with
lights, and he plowed day and night. There were many tons of hay to put up some
of it chopped. This was needed to feed the couple of thousand head of sheep.

!MIGRATION:
Moved the sheep to the South Eastern Washington area in 1944, near Winona.
The late fall and winter and early spring sheep grazing was done on the T. L.
Henderson ranch. The ranch, had about 7500 acres of grass land, and had a creek
that came out of the ground on the western edge of the ranch and ran through the
middle of the ranch, to sink back into the ground on the eastern edge. The late
Spring and Summer grazing for the sheep was in THE SAINT JOSEPH NATIONAL FOREST
in northern Idaho. The early fall grazing, was in the wheat and pea stubble
fields in the Palouse area on the way back to the home ranch. Mr. T.L.Henderson
not being a man of his handshake, sold the ranch Cecil, had a verbal agreement
to be able to lease for as long as he wished, and first right to buy if Henderson
decided to sell, instead, he sold the place to some very nice people, but Cecil
had no place to put the sheep, so he was forced to sell out the sheep business
in about 1947. He moved the family to Shady Cove Oregon, and did carpenter
work until entering Insurance field in 1955. Moved to Ashland, OR about 1958.

!OCCUPATION:
Cecil, has sold all forms of Insurance, and in the Life & Health field, was a
company leader for Grange Mutual Life Company for several years, winning trips
to Company conventions in Canada, San Diego, San Francisco, Hawaii and several
others. He was Grange Mutual Life Company Agent of the year on one occasion.
Cecil, will still write a policy for you, if the need arises. (UNTIL 1-11-91)
