Carol Jean Brown attended school in Aurora, Colorado and graduated from
Aurora Central High school. She studied X-ray technology at Colorado
School of Medicine. She married Paul Thaemert in 1965. He was a piano
tuner and later was an officer in the Colorado Jefferson County Sheriff's
department. The marriage ended in divorce. Carol was employed by the
Jefferson County department of Social Services for several years. In
1989 she transferred to Colorado Teller County Department of Social
Services as a supervisor. At that time she moved to Woodland Park,
Colorado.

She died unmarried. She was living in Pueblo, CO near captain John D. Fee
in 1892 according to Lydia Fee's death notice in the Fairfield Ledger.
She made a fortune investing in a method of extracting more gold from the
remains of prior gold finds. She may have done this with her brother
John D. Fee. She left her fortune to her brothers and sisters or their
living offspring.
