Notes

David Fee was born about 1789 in Huntingdon County. He
received money paid by George Jackson Fee as his inheritance from
John Fee. He married Lucy Noe on 9/12/1810 at Lee City, Virginia.
Then he moved to Harlan County Kentucky where he served in
Garland's Kentucky Militia during the War of 1812 and he later
received a pension for his service. He had seven children, five
boys and two girls. A descendant of his, Viola Fee Knipp, was a
Daughter of the American Revolution and lives (or lived since she
would be about 85 now) in Hickory, North Carolina. He died June
26, 1849 in Harlan County. From the papers Viola Fee Knipp filed
at the DAR I can see we have a huge family of relatives in the
Appalachian Mountain region who are his descendants. Harlan County
(named for the Harlans in another branch of our family) Kentucky is
coal mining country.
