Robert Clark MCCONNELL

Bob was born in Oregon but lived in Pullman, Washington after the age of 1.
He attended school in Pullman and graduated from Pullman High School in 1974.
He traveled to Mexico two summers while in high school and also the summer of
1974 after graduation where he learned Spanish. He was in Boy Scouts and
went on a hundred mile canoe trip down the North Fork of the Clearwater and
also went on long summer hikes in the Olympic mountains and in mountains in
the Cascades near Mount Rainier. In college he went to Western Washington
University in Bellingham, Washington for two years and then he finished
college in Pullman at Washington State University. While working one
summer in Bellingham, Bob met Gloria Avilan from Colombia in the library
at Western Washington University. He graduated in Business in 1979 and
traveled to Colombia after graduation. In Colombia he stayed with the family
of Glora Esperanza Avilan and on 1/28/80 he married her in the Catholic
church Madre Del Salvador in Bogota Colombia. The ceremony was done in
English and Spanish by a German priest named Jose Gierer. They returned
to the U.S. where Bob got a job doing administrative work for a small
precision machine shop called D & S Instruments. He attended school part
time studying accounting and became a qualified accountant. Then he worked
for LeMaster & Daniels in Colfax, Washington and passed the CPA exam in
1983. After attending school for a while at WSU, Bob moved to Miami, Florida
and found a job at Seidman & Seidman. Soon after he found another job
working at Data Access doing computer programming on contract for McGraw-
Hill using an Apple II. Here he was given a database program called
DataFlex, which he learned and used in future jobs. Bob moved with the
manager of the company he worked for to Adler Group, a real estate company
and did accounting and programming work there. Then he moved to a company
on Miami Beach, Ebbars Realty, where he wrote accounting programs for the
Apple II computer. While there he met an accountant who needed programs
for restaurants which Bob developed for him. Bob then started a company,
Restaurant Software Associates, that sold restaurant software. This was
an unprofitable venture and Bob took a job at Raltron Electronics where
he developed software for international distribution including accounting,
inventory control, automatic shipping, computerized faxes, and programs
for manufacturing operations. The company grew substantially going from
a company of about 20 employees to one employing 90 workers. While working
Bob worked on a Masters in Accounting degree which he should finish in 1995.
