! DONNA O PERKINS
!FOREST GROVE -- Forest Grove resident Donna O Perkins, 88, died here Oct 11
at the Camelot Care Center.
!A graveside service will be held at 10 AM, Oct 18, in Zion Hill Cemetery at
Deer Park, Wash. The Rev Richard Holmes, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church of
Deer Park, will officiate.
!Mrs Perkins was born April 18, 1906, in Simpson, Neb, to Charles A and Sarah E
[Forgey] Love. She was raised and educated in Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota
and Washington and graduated from Clayton (Wash) High School.
!She married Alvin C Perkins in Southern California. Following their marriage
the couple resided in San Pedro, Calif, until 1945 when they moved to Shady
Cove (OR). During World War II, Mrs Perkins served as a voulunteer with the
Red Cross and USO and was active in other wartime causes. In Shady Cove, she
served in various posts with the Jackson County Home Extension Service.
!The Perkinses retired and moved to Redmond, OR, in 1966.
!Mr Perkins died in Redmond, OR, on Sept 28, 1985, after they had celebrated
over 55 years of marriage.
!Mrs Perkins remained in Redmond, OR until 1989 when she moved to the Beaverton
(OR) area to be near family. The following year she made her home at Camelot
Care Center in Forest Grove.
!She belonged to the Methodist Church. She enjoyed handicrafts and traveling,
especially through the Southwest.
!In addition to her husband, Mrs Perkins was preceded in death by her parents;
a brother James Lowe; and twinn sisters, Madeline Westby and Marion Forney.
!Survivors include three children, Donna A Kee of Redmond (OR), Randall Perkins
of Port Orchard, Wash, and Edna L Fontenot of Beaverton (OR), one sister,
Minnie Schmidt of Keizer, (OR), eight grandchildren; several great
grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
!The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army,
Box 2823, Portland, OR 97208.
!Fuiten-Rose Chapel of Forest Grove is handling arrangements.
