"They brought a certificate of membership with Friends from Waterford
Monthly Meeting, in Ireland, bearing date 2, 13, 1712. They resided
probably for sometime in Philadelphia, bu prior to 1728 had settled in
Christiana Hundred, in New Castle Co., Del."

He took an oath of fidelity at New Haven 1654 and married Ann, widow of
John Jordan of Guilford 1654 (she was a relation of Governor Fenwich).
After his marriage he lived at Guilford where Dec. 2nd 1658, John Hill of
Guilford sued Thomas Clark for slander-- the court declared him not guilty.
Thomas Clark died Oct. 10 1668. Inventory 222 L. It is recorded he is
probably the brother of George Clark, Jr. of Milford, and of John Clark
of Saybrook, Conn.

GOODS FOR THE PEOPLE AT HENRY G. KNEPP'S...

In The Old Fairfield City Cemetery Henry G. Knepp the old grave yard book shows
he purchased lot #181 for $6.00 on October 1, 1858. Tombstone on west half,
lot 181 says KNEPP: H.G. 1823-1898.

DEATH OF AN OLD FAIRFIELDIAN. The remains of Henry G. Knepp, who was a
resident of this city from October, 1855, to 1878, were brought here for
interment Saturday night. He died at the home of M.E. Gilbert, a son-in-law,
in Chicago Friday from paralysis... Mr. Knepp was born in Mifflin County,
Penn., February 29th, 1824, grew to manhood there and was married to Miss
Mary Fee January 22nd, 1852. They came to this city in October, 1855.
Mrs. Knepp died June 3d, 1893. One childe, Mrs. Gilbert, survives the
parents... Among older residents of Fairfield, Mr. Knepp had many friends
who were pained to learn of his death. Funeral serves were held at the
Presbyterian church Sabbath afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J.F.
Magill, and the body was interred in the City Cemetery, where that of his
wife lies. Mrs. Gilbert, accompanied by Mrs. J.P. Wightman of Evanston,
Ill., brought the remains to this city.

Burial Permit: Henry G. Knepp, age 76 y., male, white; d. 275 Park Ave.,
Chicago, Ill., Dec 10, 1898... Junkin & Baker, Undertakers.
