Hiram was born in 1824 while his parents were living in Poland Twp, Trumbull (now Mahoning Co.), OH. He moved to Mercer Co. with his parents and met his wife. They were married in New Castle, but later returned back to Mercer Co. after spendin g some time in Venango Co. Their three boys were born in Mercer County.

He was in the 1850 census, Cool Spring, Mercer Co., PA.

Notes

Col. Robert Patterson migrated to Kentucky in 1775. Founded the city of Lexington, KY as sole proprietor, in 1776. Marched & fought as Captain in the campaign under Clark, Bowman, & Logan in 1779 & 1780, and as a Colonel in 1782. He was Captai n of a company in the Battle of Lower Blue Licks, 19 Aug.1782 where his life was saved by the heroism of Aaron Reynolds. He was one of the three original proprietors & founders of the city of Cincinnati, Ohio in December, 1788.
