Notes

After 1860 the entire family seems to disappear. There was a Catherine McConnell in Scioto County, OH in the 1880 census, living alone, who was the widow of a physician. Her birthdate matches Catherine Ullery but it seems surprising a carpente r would become a physician. However, his son became a pharmacist, so possibly medicine was in this family.

The most likely series of events is that John C. McConnell joined the Civil War and never returned. The family moved in with relatives in Sandusky Co., Ohio which is where John Delbert McConnell was born in 1861.
