Notes

Per Randy McConnell:
James and Ann McConnell operated a tavern near Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church in Sadsbury, Chester Co., PA. Taven and inn-holding became a family occupation until after the McConnells reached southwest Missouri.

The ties to Upper Octorara Church are significant: it was founded in 1720 by the Rev. Adam Boyd, the probable brother of Catherine Boyd McConnell, wife of the Alexander in the line leading to the Ozarks.

Per "A Brief Sketch of the McConnell Family"
It is quite probable that the four brothers, William, Alexander, James and Adam McConnell, who settled in Great Cove in 1750 were the sons of Alexander, the original settler who had sons so named. The fact that there were four brothers in wha t is now Fulton County in 1750 with the same names as four brothers in Lancaster County shortly before that year, makes it reasonable to assume they were the same brothers.

McConnells also move by 1750 into Cumberland Co., PA around the Great Cove.

James McConnell, Sr., wrote a will on June 5, 1777 per will abstracts of Peters Twp, Cumberland Co., PA.
