From Saddler, Old and New Westmoreland, PA. John McConnell came from Dumfrieshire, Scotland and settled on a farm of 600 acres in what is now Colerain Township, Lancaster (then Chester) Co. A portion of the farm is owned by one of his descendant s, Dr. Abraham A. McConnell of Philadelphia. David Guldin has old handwritten notes that show Elizabeth's last name was Barclay and there were seven children-- William, John, Alexander, Mary, Margaret, Martha and Daniel.
